In 1988, an adult female takes a fall, sustaining a C5-C6 compression fracture resulting in a 25% disability. In 1995, a spinal fusion and discectomy surgery is performed at Edmonton General Hospital to resolve ongoing discomfort.
Surgery failed to reduce discomfort and this patient suffered increased chronic pain, decreased mobility, cognitive deficits and intermittent bouts of paralysis.
In 2002, when exposed to EPR biofeedback the patient reports, “Immediate reduction in pain and relief of paralysis”. After eight months of biofeedback, the patient has regained range of motion, strength and cognition and no longer considers herself “disabled.”
